Roundabout Construction Starting Monday!
Hey everyone! Last night there was a public meeting held for the Harrisburg Roundabout Project that will be constructed in the 2023 construction season at the Cliff Ave and Willow Street intersection. There was a fantastic turnout from community members, over 125 community members were in attendance! Stockwell Engineer's team and the City of Harrisburg employees were there to answer questions and give insight on the project. If you were unable to make it to last night’s meeting and you still have questions Stockwell Engineers will have team members at ACE Hardware, Fareway, and Dollar Fresh on Saturday the 15th in the morning to answer any questions. Thank you to all that were able to make it to the public meeting! If you were not able to attend and cannot make it on Saturday, below are highlights from the meeting.

Project overview:
The intersection of Willow Street and Cliff Avenue is a very busy intersection that much of the Harrisburg community uses daily. The regular traffic congestion at the intersection called for change. The City of Harrisburg plans to do just that with the introduction of a new two-lane roundabout to improve traffic flow and emphasize safety. The project will consist of full replacement of the roadway section, installation of a two-lane roundabout, and underground utilities will also be improved with the project.
Project Schedule:
Willow Street will be closing east and west of Cliff Avenue starting Monday the 14th. Cliff Avenue will remain open for regular traffic in the north and south direction. There is a road closures detour route that is posted on the project website under the “Information” tab for your viewing, this illustrates how to navigate the intersection during construction activity. There will also be signage along the traffic routes that will assist in access routes to local businesses through the project.
Project Updates:
The best way to stay up to date on the progress of the project is to subscribe to the project website. This is very easy to do. Go to the home page of the website, in the upper right-hand corner there is an orange button that reads “Subscribe for Project Updates!”, click the button, enter your information and press submit. There is also a texting service that is available for regular updates. You can subscribe to the texting service by texting ‘HARRISBURG’ to 91896 and follow the directions through the message. If you have questions regarding the project the Stockwell Team contact information is posted under the “Contact Us” tab on the website.
